Chris Linder | Owner/Operator

I’ve always been fascinated with visual story telling - there’s something about the language of film that transcends words on a page. On a video project, there’s this goal to tell as much as you can with the camera, and if necessary, use words.

After graduating from UW-Superior in 2018 with degrees in digital cinema and theatre, I dove headfirst into freelance. Since then I’ve worked for local businesses, regional organizations, an international fashion show, some of my favorite bands, and a famous record label in Seattle.

I’ve always had a more “artist with a camera” approach to videography, observing seasoned cinematographers, and watching my favorite art films on repeat. There’s a lot of takeaways that I’m always trying to bring to new projects, whether it’s something with the lights, a lens choice, or camera movement. Ultimately though, it always comes back to what’s going to be the best way to tell the story and wow an audience.

Lakedrop is more than just a personal rebrand. It’s a video production service in Duluth, Minnesota that offers commercial production with a background in professional screenwriting and an artistic approach to visual storytelling. It’s the video thing by an “arts” guy who gets biz.

Let’s connect.
